The Bible is Unique

The Christian faith, based on the Bible, is absolutely special and unique among the world’s competing religions and philosophies. Unlike other religions, which teach that mankind must earn salvation or even work toward eventual godhood, the Bible says that human beings are sinful and will never be able to live up to the perfect standards of the infinite God. To bridge this gap,  the true God of the Bible did something that no other religion can boast: He came to earth in human form, lived a perfect, sinless life, and died one of the the worst deaths imaginable on our legal behalf. He died for our sins so that we don’t have to; we are eternally indebted to Him. God sacrificed His only Son so that we all could live. (For good evidence of this, look at my page, “Who Were the Apostles”).

Christian apologists of various kinds have done a great job of defending the faith from all different angles, and this website can’t possibly do all of that great work justice. One of my personal favorite defenders of the faith is Dr. Phil Fernandes. I highly recommend his resources, available here: http://instituteofbiblicaldefense.com/

What I can do here is link to a Quizlet set and PDF on the messianic prophecies of the Old Testament. I find them to be among the most powerful evidence for the Bible being uniquely God’s word! It’s  stunning  to read the detailed descriptions of the life and death of Christ that were written many hundreds of years before he was born. No other competing religion or truth claim can even begin to come close.  The Bible is uniquely the Word of God and it proves it through fulfilled prophecy spanning thousands of years.
